What are Anusol Suppositories and what are they used for? Anusol Suppositories help to relieve the pain, swelling, itch and irritation of internal piles (haemorrhoids) and other related conditions, such as anal itching. It contains the following ingredients:
• Zinc oxide and Bismuth salts are mildly astringent and antiseptic. They soothe and protect raw areas. • Balsam Peru is mildly antiseptic and has a protective action on sore areas and may help healing.
Active Ingredients: Zinc oxide 296mg, Bismuth subgallate 59mg, Balsam Peru 49mg, Bismuth oxide 24mg.
Warnings and Precautions:
Please read the enclosed leaflet before you take this medication. Do not exceed stated dose. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without medical advice. If you experience bleeding in the back passage or show signs of infection please contact your doctor. If you suffer from recurrent haemmorhoids please seek medical advice as there may be a better treatment for you or an underlying cause. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist. If anyone has too much or has accidentally swallowed Anusol Suppositories, contact a doctor or your nearest Accident and Emergency department, taking this leaflet and pack with you.
Breastfeeding
Consult doctor or pharmacist - This product should not be used during pregnancy and lactation unless the potential benefit of treatment to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the developing foetus or nursing infant.
Pregnancy
Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies.
Pharmacist Tip
Constipation can be a cause of haemmorhoids. It is a good idea to increase fibre and water in your diet to prevent constipation and alleviate the symptoms of haemmorhoids.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance(s) or to any of the excipients contained in this product
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Adults, children over 12 years and the elderly: Insert one suppository into the back passage (anus) at night, in the morning and after each bowel movement.
Anusol Suppositories should be inserted into the anus.
• Wash anal area and dry gently with a soft towel before using this medicine.
• Remove plastic cover from the suppository before use.
• Wash your hands before and after using Anusol.
• Do not take orally.
• If your symptoms get worse, or do not improve after 7 days, contact your doctor or pharmacist for further advice.
Children (under 12 years):
This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years old.
